Kapadokya, Turkey – Jerusalem, Israel

Kapadokya – Jerusalem

The morning of three breakfasts…

It was 3.00am when the bus left the hotel heading for the airport. We arrived at the airport at 4.30am. While waiting to board we had a ready-made breakfast.  6.00am the Turkey Air flight left for Istanbul. On the flight we had a very light breakfast, a bun and a drink. Arrived in Istanbul at 7.30 am. Went through customs and at 9.30am we boarded a Turkey Air flight for Tel Aviv (Ben Gurion Airport) Israel.  Again we were served breakfast. The breakfast was a bit more extensive then the flight from Kapadokya.  The breakfast was made up of a drink, a bun that we could put the cheese, tomato, cucumber and olives in. After the third breakfast I was full.

We landed at Tel Aviv airport at 11.40 am only to find that the tour guide and bus had the wrong time. So there was going to be a wait. Finally the tour guide and the bus arrived at 2.30pm. We headed for the Valley of Elah, where David and Goliath had the famous fight, where David defeated the giant – Goliath (1 Sam 17:1-52). Collected 5 little stones as a memento of the location.

From the Valley of Elah we drove to a hill over looking Jerusalem. (An extra ordinary view of Jerusalem.)
